Regent Airways, one of the leading airlines in Bangladesh has added in its fleet a new Boeing 737-800 aircraft which will start flying to Oman from April 7, a new Middle East destination, said a press release here.
The new Boeing arrived at Dhaka Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on early Thursday from Indonesia capital, Jakarta.
The aircraft taken as lease from a USA based company Jekes UK for six years, will take up the total number of aircraft of the fleet the airline to five, including three Boeing and two dashes, according to a press release.
The press release further added that, primarily the flight will be operated four days in a week on Dhaka-Chittagong-Muscat route.
On every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday the flight will fly from Dhaka at 7-15 pm for Chittagong and will fly from Chittagong at 8-30pm for Muscat where it will reach at 11.45 pm local time.
Again, it will leave Muscat at midnight and landed in Chittagong at 7-30 am and Dhaka at 8-45 am.
Including all taxes, the minimum fare of Dhaka-Muscat has been fixed up at Taka 20,565 for one way and return Taka 39,478.
The one-way Chittagong-Muscat fare will be Taka 19,005 and return Taka 39,244.
The one-way Muscat -Dhaka minimum fare will be 50 Omani Rial and return 130 Rial. The one way Muscat-Chittagong fare will be 60 Rial and return135 Rial.
Besides, each passenger will have the opportunity to carry free 20 kgs of luggage from Bangladesh while each passenger can carry 45 kgs of luggage free of cost while coming from Oman.
Describing the background of opening of a new route, Managing Director Mashruf Habib said Regent Airways is to be flying partner of the Bangladeshi expatriates worldwide and it is tying to make the travel on air routes more comfortable and cheaper.
Following our success on prevailing international routes particularly Malaysia and Singapore, we have started a new air route to Middle East now, he added.
