The main programme of BCB High Performance (HP) Programme is scheduled to commence in June. But the HP authority launched the first phase of the HP Camp-2016 with the participation of the fast bowlers at Mirpur Indoor Stadium yesterday.
A total of 18 pacers including top 10 fast-bowlers of the recently concluded Robi Pacer Hunt programme alongside five players from Under-19 and three others have been selected by national selection panel for the two-week-long camp.
In this regard, AEM Kawsar, operation manager of BCB Game Development and in-charge of HP programme, said that they will work on skill and fitness during two-week preliminary programme.
“All the selected fast bowlers will work only on fitness and skill for the next two weeks under the coaching staffs. Then they will get chance of 40 days for the second phase before incorporating with the main phase of the HP programme,” said Kawsar.
On the other hand, HP authority is searching for quality coaching staffs for the next HP campaign. BCB have already floated their advertisement seeking coaching staffs. It is learnt that former Bangladesh head coach Stuart Law along with West Indies legendary bowler Curtly Ambrose showed their keen interest to work in Bangladesh for the 45-day-long development programme.
