Youth killed in Noakhali

A young man was shot to death and two others suffered bullet injuries in a clash between two groups over a friendly cricket match at Anantapur village in Begumganj upazila of Noakhali yesterday. The deceased was identified as Fazle Rabbi alias Rajib, 20, while the injured are Wasim, 24, and Yeasin, 23. Begumganj Police Station OC Golam Faruqe said the clash ensued following an altercation between the supporters of two teams over the friendly cricket match around 5pm. A chase and counter-chase took place between them during the melee when they fired seven gunshots, leaving Rajib, Wasim and Yeasin injured.
