Charge sheet submitted against 33 BNP men

Police yesterday submitted a charge sheet against BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and some other party leaders and activists in an arson case. According to court sources, the police named 33 people in the charge sheet in a case filed over the arson on a BRTC bus in the capital’s Motijheel area on January 6, 2015, during the BNP-enforced countrywide blockade. BNP standing committee member Barrister  Rafiqul Islam Mia, adviser to the BNP chairperson  Shamsuzzaman Dudu, business leader and the BNP chairperson’s advisor Abdul Awal Mintoo, party joint secretary general Barkatullah Bulu, student affairs secretary Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annie, among others , were named in the case filed with Paltan Police Station on 7th January in 2016. Of the 33, the police also sought arrest warrants against 20 BNP leaders and activists.
