Chittagong Abahani steal the show

Sk Jamal leave it late for players� transfer

Defending champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club failed to uphold the same set of players to retain their services, who won the title for previous two successive seasons, while all the teams completed inter-club players’ transfer process of the Bangladesh Premier League.
Sheikh Jamal were among the last team to submit the players’ list came at BFF at 9:30pm on Sunday, while Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra were the first team completed the process submitting their papers on Saturday.  
Meanwhile, there were much talking and were also a confusion about Sheikh Jamal, whether they would take part in the transfer process or not, as there are dispute with nine players, who played for them previous season but signed for other clubs this season and Jamal demanded that they (players) received advance payment to play for coming season.
However, leaving behind all the confusions finally they submitted the papers but the big names were absent in the 21-man list, like the playmaker and national captain Mamunul Islam, Jamal Bhuiyan who were in fact the back bone of the team.
Though their foreign trio, including goal machine Wedson Anselme are still with the team to keep their hopes alive for the hat-trick championship in the local league.
Abdul Gaffar, secretary of the Jamal’s football committee, about the nine players, who left the club, said that they will go for legal action against them and have already complained to the players’ status committee of the BFF.  
Chittagong Abahani Limited gave the great surprise when they set their vision to clinch the top spot this season from the ninth position they earned in the last season.
Chittagong Abahani, who in fact tipped-off to form a strong side to fight for the championship of the professional league after claiming the trophy of the Sheikh Kamal Gold Cup International football tournament, they organised on October 30 last year.
The Port City representative appeared as one of the giants when they roped in most of the premier performers of the national squad, apart a forward from Haiti, with a Slovakian as head coach at the helm and a couple of striker with him.
But among the traditional giants in the domestic football Mohammedan and Abahani, the later formed a balanced team signing up maximum young players and can expected to fight for the championship, but it depends on quality foreign recruitment.
