BCB finalise payment gradation for Premier League cricket

Sports Reporter

The review committee of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) finalised the gradation of the players’ payment for the upcoming 2016-17 season of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.
After the revision in player’s payment, the bulk of the graded players will get more payment than the past in the forthcoming league.
The prestigious league is scheduled to roll onto the ground next month following the player transfer, which will be taken place by ‘Player by Choice’ system.
The committee brought changes in gradation of players’ payment but they made no change in payments of icon players. Every icon player will get Tk 30 lakh so far.
As per the new gradation of the players’ payment, B-plus category players will enjoy more money than other category players. They will get Tk18 lakh in place of Tk10 lakh.
Thereafter, players of A and B category will receive more money. These two category players will get Tk 22 lakh and Tk15 lakh in lieu of Tk15 lakh and Tk8 lakh respectively.
A-plus category will acquire three lakh more than the past. Now they will enjoy Tk25 lakh. Category-C player will get Tk10 lakh with the increase of Tk 5 lakh. Player of category-D will enjoy Tk 6 lakh in place of previous Tk 2.5 lakh, while category-F will earn Tk 3.5 lakh from just one lakh taka.
Amir Khan, coordinator of the Premier Division Cricket League, admitted the matter and said that they will sit with the clubs to fix the players’ transfer date after the arrival of CCDM chairman, who is now in abroad.
“We have got the letter from the board regarding players’ payment, which is revised by the review committee recently. Players will be beneficial under the revised structure as all the payment has been increased than the past in the most of the category after the review,” said Amir Khan.
“We will sit with the participating teams’ authorities after the arrival of our chairman. Consulting with them, we’ll fix a date of players’ transfer for the forthcoming league,” Khan told The Independent.
It is learnt that the board has sought the fifty percent bank guarantee from the clubs so that the board faced no more repetition of players’ payment fiasco.
This time each team will get access to play a foreign player in the league. Apart from that, every team will take two players, who played for the team in the previous year, without the player by choice system.
