A team from the US Department of Defense’s Centre for Excellence in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance (CFE) arrived in the capital yesterday to collaborate on disaster management, reports UNB.
The Centre for Excellence in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance team will engage government, military, private, and public disaster stakeholders in Bangladesh on strategies and best practices for disaster preparedness and civil-military cooperation.
The visit is aimed at supporting future cooperation between the
United States and Bangladesh in this area, said a Chinese Embassy statement without mentioning names of the team members.
“By exchanging ideas on how to prepare for natural disasters, we enhance our ability to respond to a crisis and protect our citizens,”said Chargé d'affaires David Meale. “Developing this partnership helps both our countries,” he added.
