Bhutanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Pema Choden made a farewell call on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban in the capital yesterday.
During the meeting, the president said the scope to expand trade and investment of the region will be increased when the Bangladesh-Bhutan-India-Nepal (BBIN) Motor Vehicle Agreement will be implemented, President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS.
Abdul Hamid said Bhutan can use Mongla and Payra ports for raising its trade.
The president expressed satisfaction over the existing relations between Bangladesh and Bhutan and hoped that the ties will be strengthened further in future.
Pema Choden said Bhutan attaches highest importance to strengthening its relations with Bangladesh.
The ambassador thanked the president for his cooperation in discharging her assignment in Bangladesh.
