406 centres vulnerable

A total of 406 polling centres in 85 unions of Jessore district have been identified as vulnerable. The UP elections in the district will begin from March 31. Jessore election commission sources said a total of 780 polling centres in 85 unions have been set up for casting votes this year. Of them, 406 polling centres have been identified as risky. Upazila-wise vulnerable centres are as follows. In Jessore sadar upazila, total polling centers are 144 and of them 99 polling centers are vulnerable. In Sarsha upazila, 90 out of 100 are vulnerable. In Jhikorgacha and Chowgacha upazials, 84 out of 201 polling centres are vulnerable. In Abhoynagore and Bagerpara upazilas, there 108 polling centres and of them 62 are vulnerable. In Monirampur upazila, polling centers are 150 and of them 49 are vulnerable. In Keshabpur upazila, polling centers are 73. Of which, 22 polling centres are vulnerable. Sources said voters of the upazilas have been gripped by fear of intimidation and violence.
