Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan Papon advised the players to concentrate on cricket only, leaving aside other issues.
His message came at a moment when it was reported the players of the Bangladesh team were broken mentally after Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny were banned temporarily from bowling in the international cricket.
It was also known that tears were rolling down to captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza’s cheek when he was asked about Taskin and Sunny. Mashrafe reportedly termed the result as injustice to the bowlers repeatedly.
“I gave them a message to that the country is bigger than any person and Bangladesh cricket team isn’t dependent on a particular person,” Papon said.
“We have many players who can win the match for the team. We are courageous nation. So they shouldn’t think about what happened off the field. They just should concentrate on the game.”
Papon said he talked to Bangladesh coach Chandika Hathurusingha and manager Khaled Mahmud Sujon but he didn’t get enough time to talk to Mashrafe.
The BCB chief was supposed to go Bangalore to watch the match between Bangladesh and Australia but he put the ideal on hold and would leave for Bangalore tomorrow (Tuesday).
“I will go to Bangalore after the match because I need to keep the things right. I have been in touch with ICC continuously.”
Papon also said they form a team to sort out the suspicious bowlers in the domestic cricket.
“Actually didn’t concentrate on the bowlers’ bowling action when they bowl in domestic cricket. The loopholes of the action were identified after they made entry into the international cricket. But now it is mandatory to identify the bowlers with suspicious action in the domestic cricket. We’ll form a committee in this regard.”
