The prosecution at the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 yesterday submitted formal charges in the case of crimes against humanity against six alleged war criminals from Gaibandha, bringing three specific charges.
The six accused are former Jamaat lawmaker Abdul Aziz alias Ghoramara Aziz, M Ruhul Amin alias Monju, M Abdul Latif, Abu Muslem, M Nazmul Huda and M Abdur Rahim Miah.
Senior prosecutor Hrishikesh Saha submitted the formal charges yesterday morning.
"All the three charges are for killings. In a particular incident, the accused gunned down 13 people, all of whom were people's representatives, in Sundarganj, Gaibandha," Saha told BSS.
Justice Anwarul Haque, chairman of the three-member panel of the ICT-1, set March 27 for passing order whether to take the charges into cognizance.
