Four held with 35,000 yaba pills in capital

Detectives arrested four alleged drug peddlers along with 35,000 yaba tablets from the capital’s Jatrabari area early yesterday, reports UNB.
The arrestees are Md Shukkur Ali alias Dealer Ali, Boss Harun, yaba Karim and Harun-ur-Rashid.
Based on secret information, a special Detective Branch team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police conducted a drive in the area around 12:25am and challenged a brand new Nisan jeep, said sources at the DB headquarters.
Searching the vehicle, the plainclothes police recovered 35,000 yaba pills and arrested the four occupants.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrested gangsters revealed that drug emperor Jubayer has long been involved in smuggling yaba into Bangladesh from Myanmar through Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar.
Shukkur Ali, a driver of Hanif Paribahan, used to reach the yaba consignments to Dhaka while the other arrestees sell those in different areas in the capital.
