NARSINGDI: Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) has taken necessary steps to produce pesticide free vegetables in the district during the current summer season, reports BSS.
Deputy Director of DAE Lotafat Hossain said the department is giving knowledge to the farmers on the bad effect of using pesticide and chemical fertilizers on vegetable fields and also given them training on pest management.
Because of training and motivation, a large number of farmers including women farmers of the district are now quite aware on the harmful effect using chemical fertilizer and pesticides in their vegetable fields.
They have already started cultivation of various vegetables without using pesticide and chemical fertilizers on the vegetable fields.
