One killed for protesting stalking

A youth was killed in the city's Raynogor area on Tuesday night for protesting against the stalking of a girl. He was Bikol Rai, 22, son of Biplob Rai, a resident of the Majortila area.
According to family members, Sumon had been stalking Bikol's niece for the last five to six months. When Bikol protested, Sumon threatened him. On the night of the incident, there was an altercation between Jamshed Siraj, a city Jubo League leader, and Bikol over a trifle matter.
Jamshed and his brother beat up Bikol and his two friends, leaving them injured. Bikol succumbed to injuries at Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
