BCB North Zone took a 205-run lead against Walton Central Zone on the end of the Day-3 of the sixth and final round clash of the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur yesterday.
Central Zone in first innings managed to put on 306 in response to North Zone’s first innings total of 378. Henceforth, North Zone were batting on 133-3 in their second innings.
Resuming the third day at 222-6-, Central Zone added 84 runs mainly with the partnership of Tanvir Haider and Mosharraf Hossain. The duo hit 69-run for the eighth wicket stand. Tanvir struck 94-ball 35 with four boundaries before being trapped lbw by Shafaq Al Zabir, who took three wickets like Ariful Haque and Mahmudul Hasan. Skipper Mosharraf fell three runs shy of fifty. In reply, North Zone made good start as they made 133 for three with Nazmul Hossain Shanto scoring 50 not out.
Elsewhere, the match between Islami Bank East Zone and Prime Bank South Zone was drifting towards the a dull draw at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Mosaddek Hossain cracked an unbeaten century that helped South Zone extend their first innings total from 101-2 to 420-6 after resuming batting on the third day. They have deficit of 22 runs to overtake South Zone’s first innings collection of 442. Overnight batsman Shahriar Nafees finally fell for 90 starting with 36. Tushar Imran on the other hand went for 78 resuming at 23.
