Seven charges against 7 �Razakars� finalised

The investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has finalised seven specific charges of crimes against humanity against seven alleged Razakars from Purbadhala upazila in Netrakona, reports BSS.
Mohammad Abdul Hannan Khan, coordinator and chief investigator of the agency, said this at a press briefing at its Safe House at Dhanmondi in the capital at about 11:15 am.
The accused are Sheikh Mohammad Abdul Majid, Mohammad Abdul Khalek Talukder, Mohammad Falir Khan, Mohammad Abdur Rahman, Abdul Salam Sheikh, Mohammad Nuruddin and Ahmmed Ali.
Of them, Ahmmed Ali died while in police custody on August 12, 2015.
Abdul Hannan Khan said Mohammad Abdur Rahman was already in jail on charges of crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971 while five others remained absconding. The ICT, during its investigation that continued from February 12, 2014 to March 16, 2016, could primarily prove seven counts of charges against them. The 309-page probe report will be submitted to the tribunal’s prosecutor yesterday, Hannan Khan said.
Khan said the charges ranging from genocide to murder, confinement to torture, kidnapping and arson attack during the Liberation War, were finalised.
