Three fingers of a two-year-old child were blown off while playing with a crude bomb he picked up from bush near his home at Shaktipur in Shahzadpur municipality yesterday. Hasu Mian, son of Moni Mian of Shaktipur area, is now undergoing treatment at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital in Bogra. Earlier, he was admitted to Shahzadpur upazila health complex. Monir Hossain, inspector (Investigation) of Shahzadpur police station, said the accident happened when Hasu’s mother along with her boy went to collect leaves of trees from a bush in the backyard of the house of former lawmaker Chayan Islam. At that time the child saw a container wrapped with scotch tape and that exploded in his hands while started playing with it, he said. Hearing screaming of the mother and child, local people rushed to the spot and sent him to hospital.
