President Abdul Hamid has said lawyers are essential for the judiciary and their role in settling cases is important, reports BSS. The president said this when the newly elected office-bearers of Dhaka Bar Association (DBA), led by its president Saidur Rahman made a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban in the capital yesterday, president’s press secretary Joynal Abedin said. Bangladesh Awami League-backed lawyers clinched 21 out of the 27 positions, including that of the president and general secretary, in elections to Dhaka Bar Association held in February this year.
