Shariatpur: Robbers looted valuables from six shops injuring two people, including one with bullet, in Gosairhat Bazar of Gosairhat upazila early yesterday, reports UNB.
Mofazzal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Gosairhat police station, said a gang of robbers numbering 11-12 broke into six shops, including four jewellery shops and a telephone shop, at Gosairhat Bazar and tied up 11 people, including two policemen on guard, around 2am.
Later they looted gold ornaments, cash and other valuables from the shops.
As the locals attempted to resist them, the gang opened shots that left a shop owner injured.
The bandits also beat another man.The bullet-injured, Apu Mal Kormokar, owner of a jeweller’s, was admitted to Gosairhat upazila health complex.
