Stocks up after two day�s fall

All the price indices at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) were up at close yesterday, ceasing the continuous fall that the bourse saw in the past two trading sessions, reports BSS.
DSEX, the broader index, recovered with marginal 8.27 points to close up at 4475.89 while the blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES eased up at 1713.34 and 1087.38 respectively.
The market became sellers’ one, with 176 issues closing higher against 90 losing securities.
All the major sectors including engineering, NBFI and banking sectors increased significantly when the top five advancing issues were Orion Infusion, Alltex Industries, Far East Finance, Pragati Life and Power Grid.
Pharmaceuticals and food and allied decreased on the day most when Lanka Bangla, Prime Insurance, Savar Ref, Midas and NCCBLMF1 were the major lagging issues.
The day’s trade value surged by over 29.0 per cent to Tk 435.07 crore and the value rose by nearly 19.0 percent to 12.32 crore shares.
Lanka Bangla Finance, AFC Agro, Orion Infusion, Aman Feed and Orion Pharma were the most liquid companies.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE)
also closed higher, with the major CSCX index finishing 12.17 points up at 8389.64.
The daily transaction rose when over one crore shares traded for Tk 30.76 crore on market where 122 issues gained and 79 incurred loss.
