A Dhaka court yesterday ordered to re-investigate by judicial magistrate into the alleged sexual assault of a woman by five policemen, including former Officer in-Charge of Jatrabari Police Station, Aboni Shankar Kar.
Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal -2 Judge Shafiul Azam passed the order after he accepted the non-acceptance petition by the complainant.
The same court also asked to submit the investigation report by March 31.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate SM Masud Zaman submitted a report to the court mentioning that police found no proof of the charges on March 6.
A case was filed with the tribunal against five policemen including Aboni Shankar for sexually assaulting a woman on January 20.
Sub-Inspectors Jasim and Zaman, constable Debashis of Jatrabari police station and SI Abdul Quader of Mugda police station were also accused in the case.
