Schoolgirl killed after �gang-rape� in Kurigram

A schoolgirl was strangulated to death allegedly after gang-rape by three youths at Boalmari village in Roumari upazila of Kurigram yesterday, reports UNB. The victim was a resident of the village. Locals said Ayiub Ali, son of Abdul Baten of the same area, along with his two friends went to the victim’s house at noon and remained hidden in the kitchen. When the victim entered at the kitchen, the trio violated her one after another. Later, the rapists strangulated her and left the scene in a hurry. However, Ayiub died of cardiac arrest as he was on the run. Family members of the victim said Ayiub had been disturbing her for long. Officer-in-charge of Roumari Police Station Sohrab Hossain confirmed the incident. The bodies of the victim and ‘rapist’ Ayub were sent to hospital morgue for autopsy. Police also arrested a man in connection with the incident.
