Dhaka district CNG-run Autorickshaw Drivers Union will enforce a 24-hour strike in the capital from 6am today to press home their demands, reports UNB.
The decision came at a meeting held yesterday at its Dhalpur office with its president M Rafique in the chair. The meeting decided to enforce the strike from 6am on Sunday to 6am on Monday to press home its 7-point demand, said general secretary of the organisation Md Kamal Ahmed.
The demands include immediate stop to random fine and jailing by the mobile courts, immediate release of the drivers who have been sent to jail by mobile courts, withdrawal of cases against them and distribution of 5,000 more CNG-run auto-rickshaws among the drivers.
