Temple-based non-formal edn running successfully in Rangpur

The Temple-based non-formal child and mass education programme has been running successfully spreading literacy and developing human resources to accelerate uplift in rural areas, reports BSS.
The views were expressed at the inaugural ceremony of a three-day basic training workshop organised for the teachers of the Temple-based education centres at Samir Uddin School and College in Nilphamari district town yesterday.
The Hindu Religious Welfare Trust (HRWT) under the Ministry of Religious Affairs with assistance of Nilphamari district office of the Mandir-based Child and Mass Education Programme has been organising the training workshop.
A total of 129 male and female teachers from all 129 Mandir- based Child and Mass Education Centres in six upazilas of Nilphamari district are participating in the workshop for enhancing their skills to properly educate the illiterate children and adult people.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of Nilphamari AJM Ershad Ahsan Habib formally inaugurated the training workshop as the chief guest with Assistant Director of the HRWT Saiful Islam was in the chair.
Principal of Samir Uddin School and College Sultan Ali Shah and Filed Supervisor of the Hindu Religious Welfare Trust Anup Kumar Kundu addressed the inaugural ceremony as the special guests.
The speakers said the present government has been putting maximum emphasis on turning the illiterate into literate and worthy citizens through providing non-formal education and training for making them developed human resources.
The chief guest called upon the participating teachers for conducting the non-formal child and mass education programme successfully to educate uneducated children and adult population to turn them into able human resources.
