Hard fought win for Army

Bangladesh Army had a hard fought 7-6 victory over Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Pratishthan (BKSP) in the Anjan’s Independence Day Hockey tournament yesterday.
Held at the Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium, in the day’s first match, Bangladesh Army scored six field goals out of their seven with Sirajul Islam, Milon Hossain, Abdul Malek, Ripon Kumar Mohanta and Sabbir Rana sounded the board once each while Shohag converted a penalty corner.
But the BKSP, out of their six, could score only one field goal with Mohammed Mohsin slamming home from a close distance, while penalty corner specialist Ashraful Islam converted five penalty corners.
