A policeman was arrested from his residence at Nandipara in the capital yesterday for shooting an employee of a cable operator agency, reports UNB. The arrestee was identified as Shamim Reza, assistant sub-inspector of Bangshal Police Station. Rabiul Islam, sub-inspector of Khilgoan Police Station, said when Al-Amin, an employee of a cable operator agency, went to the residence of ASI Shamim Reza to collect bill around 11:30 Shamim locked into an altercation with him over the bill. At one stage, Shamim opened fire on Al-Amin, leaving him injured. Hearing the sound of firing, local people rushed in and cordoned off Shamim’s house. On information, police from Khilgoan Police Station rushed to the spot and arrested the ASI. Al-Amin was admitted at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
