No possibility to defer AL national council: Ashraf

MYMENSINGH: Syed Ashraful Islam, Minister for Public Administration and general secretary of the ruling Awami League, said here yesterday that there is no possibility of deferring the national council of Awami League right now, reports BSS. “The national council of our party will be held as per the schedule. If situation compels or any issue rises for deferring the council then it will be discussed at the Awami League Central Working Committee meeting,” he said while talking to reporters during a visit to the site of the office of Divisional Commissioner of Mymensingh. Syed Ashraful Islam said, “Townships like a developed country will be constructed on both the banks of the river Brahmaputra.”
Assuring of his all possible cooperation for development of Mymensingh Division, the minister said everything will be done for development and expansion of the division and its headquarters in accordance with the expectations of Mymensingh-dwellers. When asked about the possible location of the office of the division, Syed Ashraful Islam said, “The divisional headquarters would be established at the best possible place here.” Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury, Minister for Religious Affairs Principal Matiur Rahman, Leader of the Opposition Begum Raushan Ershad, Deputy Minister for Sports Arif Khan Joy, Cabinet Secretary Safiul Alam, Principal Secretary Abul Kalam Azad, Land Secretary Mezbah Uddin, Secretary of Prime Minister’s Office Suraiya Begum, Prime Minister’s private secretary-1 Sajjadul Hasan, commissioner of Dhaka division Zillar Rahman, commissioner of Mymensingh division GM Saleh Uddin, deputy commissioner Mustakim Billah Faruqui, mayor of Mymensingh Pourasabha Ikramul Haq Titu and other officers of the administration were present. After his meeting with the officers of the administration at the Circuit House, the minister visited China Morh of Charkalibari village on the other bank of the river Brahmaputra and the embankment area of the river at Charishwardia village.
