Mayors join street cleaning campaign

Annisul Huq and Sayeed Khokon, mayors of Dhaka north and south city corporations, joined a street cleaning campaign yesterday organised by the teachers and students of North South University (NSU). The NSU organised the campaign as it is celebrating its ‘24 years of glory’. The NSU authorities said the campaign was launched in solidarity with the announcement of 2016 as the ‘year of cleanliness’ by both Dhaka north and south city corporations.
The mayors took part in the campaign for around 15 minutes from 9:00am on the Manik Mia Avenue. At the campaign, Annisul Huq urged everyone to join the cleanliness campaign on their own in a bid to keep their city liveable.
On the other hand, Sayeed Khokon urged everyone to keep their respective areas clean which, in turns, would help keeping the whole city clean.
