A Customs Preventive Team seized six pieces of gold bars, weighing 2.5 kilograms, from a plane at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Thursday midnight, reports UNB. Tipped off, that several gold bars remained concealed in the plane of ‘Regent Airways’ coming from Singapore around 11:20 pm, a team of Customs Preventive Team conducted a search at the aircraft and recovered six pieces of gold from under a seat around 11:40 pm, said. Rezaul Karim, assistant commissioner (customs). The market value of the gold pieces is Tk 1.25 crore. However, none was arrested in this connection.
