Two held with firearm

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) members arrested two alleged arms traders along with a foreign pistol from the capital’s Kalyanpur area yesterday, reports UNB. The arrestees are Md Nur Islam, 32, and Md Jahangir Alam, 27. Tipped off, a Rab-2 team conducted a drive at Deen Kindergarten crossing around 11am and arrested the duo. Searching their bodies, the elite force recovered one pistol along with an empty magazine, said Major Ataur of the Rab battalion. During preliminary interrogation, the arrestees revealed that they had long been involved in illegal arms trading.
