Brexit—A new challenge for EU

Sir
Not long ago EU was crumbling due to Greece debt crisis, thereafter “still not abating” Syria migrant crisis would flog it hard. Now here is Brexit—a new term coined to mimic Grexit !It is as if troubles are not getting out of EU, simply testing its resolve, more than ever. When Charles the Gaul denied UK’s inclusion into then European Economical Council, dubbing it to be not European enough, it rippled across the continent. In his argument, UK was merely a business hub linked through its myriad of networks around the globe.
It lacked any European cultural depth whatsoever. Nevertheless, since then UK especially under the strong leadership of Mrs Thatcher integrated into EU framework and took part to shaping it for better, even though it never exchanged its coveted pound for Euro, largely due to its boastfulness than to any economical reason. Still, Europe has provided it a larger market that it will lose, should it choose to go in a separate way.
But why suddenly has EU become, irrelevant to the UK political discourse? It has much to do Mr. Cameron’s feeble and impromptu leadership that often has lost the traction across mainland. He fumbled to convince the House of Commons to take strong action in Syria, then also lost his appeal to EU parliament when he made a case for strong force in the face of Russia’s so-called aggression in Ukraine. But it was either Berlin or Paris was calling the shot instead of London, much to the chagrin of UK political elites.
Even recently USA denied it an especial trans-Atlantic treaty outside of EU framework. So even though, it brags for being different than the rest of the world a la fin it’s better with EU than without it, since in coming days the EU has much larger role to play as evident during last few years. And EU always provides UK, a much needed say across mainland Europe.
But then again if it chooses to become one of those satellite countries like Norway, or let’s say tiny Lichtenstein, then in future only it would be left cursing itself, have to nurse self-inflicted injury for being part of these massive blunders. The EU requires UK to be part of it as much as the world demands it too. A proactive UK inside EU framework is a win-win scenario to all concerned parties.
