Humayun Faridi’s film submitted to censor board

‘Ek Jobaner Jamidar, Herey Gelen Abar’, the film starring the late great actor Humayun Faridi, and directed by Uttam Akash, has been held up for a while due to some unfortunate and unavoidable circumstances. Humayun Faridi completed the shooting and dubbing for the film, but due to the passing of the producer Nazimuddin Chairman, the remaining work for the film was halted. Now, according to assistant director Niranjan Sarkar, DhakaLive has news that the film submitted to the censor board for approval yesterday. Popular actor Amin Khan also stars in the film. Niranjan Sarkar said, “We have completed the work for the film. We are negotiating with some television channels because we want its world premiere on television.”
He added, “The shooting was completed in 2011. After Nazimuddin Chairman passed away, the work of the film stopped. It remained incomplete and there was that concern about who the producer will be and how will the remaining work be completed. Those were issues that we were all concerned with. Just a few days back, we took the initiative to complete the remaining work. The film was shot using 35mm and now all that has been converted to digital format. Once it receives the green signal from the censor board, we will announce the release date.” Ek Jobane r Jamidar, Herey Gelen Abar’ is centered on a zamindar, played by Faridi. He is a man of his word and once he gives his word, he keeps it. When his daughter falls in love with a man and marries him , he sends her off to London. He does not look back ever since. Then 20 years pass by. His grandson comes to visit. However, everyone is afraid to show him around, as the slightest error can result in the punishment of death. The character of Amin Khan steps in, but has a condition. He will show the zaminder’s grandson around, but will have to be paid each day. Not only that, the amount that he will be paid one day, that amount has to be doubled the next day and so on. The time arrives for the zaminder’s grandson to go back. After calculating how much Amin Khan will be paid, it turns out that the money is more than what the zaminder can afford. The story moves forward from there.
