Mahmood Ali said that he believed ensuring education for all was a must in attaining most of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) especially those related to education and gender equality. "Through these we are hopeful to show a positive result sheet in meeting the 2030-Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs)," he added. Expressing a bit frustration over ensuring quality education, he said quite a few educational and vocational institutes operating in Bangladesh to ensure quality education although the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has undertaken many initiatives to ensure education for all.
In this connection, he laid emphasis on taking concerted efforts to turn Bangladesh into a "Sonar Bangla" (Golden Bengal) as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by ensuring education for all.
"You all are our golden boys and girls to work to translate the Bangabandhu's dream into reality," he told the students present in the function. He thanked the organizers to organize such "wonderful" event which is an important milestone for NSU to be able to create a platform where knowledge is open to all. Chairman, Board of Trustee of the university MA Kashem, chairman, Board of Trustees, NSU, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Atiqul Islam and Treasurer Dr Gour Gobinda Goswami, among others, spoke on the occasion.
