Councillor held for beating schoolboy

Police arrested a ward councillor for beating and injuring a schoolboy in the town on Wednesday night.
The student - Rafiqul Islam Sraban, 14,-- is a student of class-VIII of Baniabazaar High School and an inmate of government orphanage in the town.
School sources said Rafiqul Islam Sraban had an altercation with Shahin, a student of the same school, during the annual sport competition on Wednesday. Centering the incident uncle of Shahin, ward councilor of Jamalpur municipality Jamal Pasha, who was present at the sport function as guest, beat Rafiqul Islam Sraban mercilessly.
