Mother-son killed in road mishap

RAJSHAHI: A mother and her son were killed when their private car collided head-on with a truck at Muraripur area on Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj highway under Paba Upazila of the district on Wednesday early night, police and hospital sources said, reports BSS.
The deceased were identified as Jebunnessa Begum, 59, and his son Jahurul Islam, 40. Injured husband Mukhlesur Rahman is undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Shariful Islam, OC of Paba Police Station, said the tragic road mishap occurred while the speeding truck was trying to overtake a human hauler around 9.30 pm. Jahurul Islam was killed on the spot.
