The government has appointed Additional Metropolitan Session’s Judge Jesmin Ara Begum as Dhaka’s first female Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), reports UNB.
The Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry issued a notification yesetrday in this regard. The notification said Jesmin Ara Begum was made the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Dhaka in consultation with the Supreme Court. She will replace Mahbubar Rahman Sarker. Additional SC Registrar Sabbir Fayez said Jesmin Ara is the first female Chief Judicial Magistrate of Dhaka. The post fell vacant after the government promoted Mahbubar Rahman to deputy secretary and posted him at the Law Ministry.
