Case handed over to DB

The sensational two siblings murder case in the capital’s Banasree area was handed over to the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police(DMP) for the investigation. Talking to The Independent, Deputy Police Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) of DMP Maruf Hossain Sardar confirmed that the case was handed over to the DB on Sunday night. Nusrat Jahan Urmi, 14, a student of class VII of Viqarunnisa Noon School, and her younger brother, Alvi Aman, 6, a nursery student of Holy Crescent School in Banasree, were murdered last Monday allegedly by their own mother Mahfuza Akter Jesmin. Jesmin was arrested by RAB and is currently on a five-day police remand.
