SC gets first registrar general

Supreme Court’s Registrar Syed Aminul Islam has been appointed the first Registrar General to the Supreme Court to speed up secretarial activities.
The court said is a media statement yesterday that Chief Justice SK Sinha appointed Aminul Islam to the post until further order.
Aminul told reporters that he got the appointment letter yesterday.
There was one registrar post for supervising official works of the two Supreme Court divisions until now. The new appointment order changed that.
Justice Sinha had proposed posts of the registrar general, and separate registrars for the High Court Division and Appellate Division for better secretarial support recently.
A proposal was sent to the law ministry for creating a total of nine posts. The green signal from the recruitment board of the Public Administration, Finance Ministry and the Law Ministry created the vacancies.
