1.75 acres of Mirpur Zoo land reclaimed: Minister

Fisheries and Livestock Minister Muhammed Sayedul Hoque yesterday said the present government has reclaimed 1.75 acres of land from illegal grabber, reports BSS. “The recovered land owned by the Mirpur National Zoo was occupied by illegal grabbers during the last 52 years,” he said this at a press briefing at his ministry conference room at Bangladesh Secretariat. The minister said the National Housing Authority (NHA) allotted eight plots on the land belonged to Dhaka Zoo. “The NHA has no right to lease the state property and there were no legal documents in favour of the so called owners of that land,” Hoque said.
