Microsoft hosts first �Windows Women�

Microsoft hosted their first ever meet up of Windows Women in Microsoft’s office, Gulshan.  They chose two from every university and they had the opportunity to become Microsoft Brand Ambassador that is the representatives for the university. By joining the windows team, these women will become not only a Microsoft Brand Ambassador but they are also a part of the apps community and will receive free training on Microsoft. Furthermore, they will be able to register for Microsoft competitions worldwide.
Tanzim Saqib, DX lead of Microsoft Bangladesh, launched the event by introducing the role of Microsoft in Bangladesh. “We develop plenty human resource from here; we created over 6000 developers in just the last year”, he added.
Next, Sumaita Ahmed, intern at Microsoft, explained the future of Microsoft and discussed some of the new products of Microsoft. She emphasized on ‘Mobile first and Cloud first’ and the new features of Windows 10. People will get a free update of windows 10 provided with the genuine Windows software. She then discussed many other fascinating products of Microsoft – Hololens, Cortana and Microsoft Band. Microsoft HoloLens is the first fully untethered, see – through holographic computer. It enables high – definition holograms to come to life in your world, seamlessly integrating with physical places, spaces and things. Microsoft Cortana is a voice-controlled virtual assistant for Microsoft.
Lastly Sonia Bashir, country manager, Microsoft, talked about the concept of Windows Women and explains the idea behind it.  “I want every woman in Bangladesh (18 to 65) to understand the world of technology. We want to achieve three things with Windows Women”, she added.
“One is Microsoft Women Ambassador, second is free training on apps on the Windows platform and the third is we want to tell the world what’s happening in the world of technology. There is a major shift in the world of technology, previously people used to buy hardware and software separately, now we’re moving to cloud.”
 She further explained how people in Bangladesh know the brand (Microsoft) but there is still privacy. So she further wants to work with these ambassadors to eradicate piracy and to make the people of Bangladesh more informed about not only genuine Microsoft products which is available in cheap prices but she also wants to empower women by giving them proper training about developing apps and Microsoft.
