All the matches of the fourth round of the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) ended in draws at the two different grounds in Cox’s Bazar yesterday.
The other feature of the final day, where Shahriar Nafees smashed an unbeaten 101 for South Zone and Shamsur Rahman clattered an indefatigable 125 for Central Zone and prompted draw for their respective teams.
Resuming the fourth and final day at 237-3, BCB North Zone played till the lunch break at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium (SKICS) Academy Ground. They added 153 runs at the cost of four wickets to make their second innings 390-7 before being declaring and set a winning target of 346 for Prime Bank South Zone.
Overnight batsmen-Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Naeem Islam- shared 104-run for the fourth wicket stand, which had crossed 275-run mark. Skipper Naeem Islam struck 65 off 90, clobbering eight fours before being caught by Nazmul Hossain off Moynul Islam, who bagged brace for 30.
Just two runs later, Shanto was also out in the same manner. The young batsman, who resumed with 105, finally clubbed a patient 208-ball 126 that studded with 15 boundaries.
North Zone declared their innings when the seven wicket stand was broken by Abdur Razzak, who took three wickets for 167.
In reply, South Zone made a good start by Shahriar Nafees, who made a couple of successful partnerships. Nafees made 94-run opening stand with Anamul Haque, who fell for 43 and 73-run second wicket with Farhad Reza, who chipped in with 29.
Nafees stayed at stumps on 101 off 147, slamming 14 fours as many as one six.
Elsewhere, at the SKICS Walton Central Zone finished the final day at 199-4 getting to bat for the second time after the lunch break.
East Zone in first innings managed to score 442 in response to Central Zone’s staggering 588-8 declared. Resuming the fourth day 376-7, they added 66 runs before being all-out. Mohammad Saifuddin, who was stumps at 45, finally scored 77 with the help of seven fours to be left unbeaten.
Sharifullah picked up three wickets, while Mohammad Sharif snapped up two wickets for Central Zone.
Central Zone in reply scored 199-4 to finish the day. Shamsur Rahman played 148-ball to make 125 with 11 fours and two six to be remained unbeaten.

Bangladesh are ready to exult on the big occasion but refrain them from being emotion-chalked, considering that they have rooms to improve in T20 cricket. The hosts will fancy a chance in Sunday’s…
