London Has Fallen a 2016 American action thriller film directed by Babak Najafi, has been released in Star Cineplex and Jamuna Blockbuster cinemas yesterday along with its country release. Written by Creighton Rothenberger, Katrin Benedikt, Chad St. John, and Christian Gudegast, it is a sequel to Antoine Fuquas 2013 film Olympus Has Fallen. The film stars Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, and Morgan Freeman in the lead roles with Alon Moni Aboutboul, Angela Bassett, Robert Forster, Melissa Leo, Radha Mitchell and Charlotte Riley in supporting roles.
After the death of the British prime minister, the worlds most powerful leaders gather in London to pay their respects. Without warning, terrorists unleash a devastating attack that leaves the city in chaos and ruins. Secret Service agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) springs into action to bring U.S. President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart) to safety. When Asher falls into the hands of the sinister organisation, it is up to Banning to save his commander in chief from a horrible fate.
On May 20, 2015, Focus Features relaunched their Gramercy Pictures label for action, horror, and science-fiction releases. London Has Fallen was originally planned to release on October 2, 2015. However, on June 12, 2015, it was announced that the film has been moved back to January 22, 2016 to avoid competition with director Ridley Scotts The Martian, which swapped its original November 25 release date with director Paul McGuigans Victor Frankenstein two days prior. On July 1, 2015, the films teaser trailer was released. On September 16, 2015, the films release was moved back again to March 4, 2016, because the studios needed more time to finish the films visual effects.
