2 cops killed during chase

Two police officers, a sub-inspector and a sergeant, were killed as miscreants allegedly crushed them under the wheels of a truck during a highway-chase near Kansat Palli Bidyut office under Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj district yesterday morning. The deceased were identified as sub-inspector Sadequl Islam, 32, son of late Abdus Sattar of Fulbari in Dinajpur district and probationary sergeant Ataul Islam, 26, son of Shahjahan Mia of Sutirghat in Joypurhat district. Police later arrested the truck driver from Kasiabari area of the district.
