Bangladesh has taken initiatives to expedite its efforts to strengthen Bangladesh’s ties with Latin American countries by exploring economic potentials, reports UNB. To that end, the Americas Wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh and Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) are going to jointly organise a seminar, titled ‘Bangladesh’s Relations with Latin American Countries: Unlocking Potentials’ in the capital on Sunday.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam will address the seminar as the chief guest while BIISS Chairman Munshi Faiz Ahmad moderate the inaugural session. Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque, Ambassadors of Latin American countries—Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Columbia, Mexico, Ecuador, Brazil and Peru—will be present as panelists at the daylong seminar. There will be three sessions, titled ‘Unlocking Economic and Business Potentials’, ‘Bangladesh and Latin America: People-to-People Connectivity’ and ‘Working Together on Key Global Development Issues’, at the seminar.
