Intl confce on MSMEs dev in Bangladesh Mar 5
A two-day International Conference on Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Bangladesh will begin on Southeast University (SEU) campus in the capital tomorrow, says a press release Governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr Atiur Rahman will inaugurate the conference, while State Minister for Finance and Planning MA Mannan will present at the concluding session as chief guest. Vice Chancellor of SEU Prof. Anwar Hossain will chair the inaugural session of the conference. A total of 20 papers will be presented at the conference by a number of representatives from seven different countries.
It was informed at a press briefing on Wednesday on SEU permanent campus. Vice Chancellor of SEU Anwar Hossain briefed media representatives about the conference.
Pro Vice Chancellor of SEU Md Humayun Kabir Chowdhury, Registrar Maj Gen Kazi Fakhruddin Ahmed (retd), Chief Coordinator of BOT, SEU Trust Wing Cdr Syed Ahmed Kabir (retd), Conference Director and Professor of the Department of Economics of SEU Md Abdul Hakim, Conference Co-Director and SME Consultant of Bangladesh Bank Sukamal Sinha Chowdhury and Dean, School of Science and Engineering Syed Fakhrul Hassan were present at the briefing, among others.
Photography competition exhibition held
Daffodil International University organised an online photography competition and exhibition at DIU auditorium in the capital on Tuesday, says a press release.
More than 1000 students submitted their photographs on 14th foundation anniversary. Among them, 130 photographs were selected for final exhibition and 30 photographs were selected for prizes. Yousuf M Islam, vice chancellor of DIU, was the chief guest at the closing and award giving ceremony of the contest. Emeritus Professor Dr Aminul Islam and Emeritus Professor Dr M Lutfar Rahaman were the special guests while Zia Islam, chief photographer of Prothom Alo was the guest of honour.
Presided over by Mostafa Kamal, director permanent campus, the programme was addressed by Syed Mizanur Rahman, director (Student Affairs). Rubayet Shuvro of computer science and engineering (CSE) department became champion while Mahabubul Haque Shihab of textile engineering department and Riad Uddin of computer science and engineering (CSE) department became 1st and 2nd runner up respectively.
