CHITTAGONG: A mobile court of the National Consumer Right Protection Directorate (CRPD) in cooperation with district administration fined two food producing establishments Tk 1.46 lakh for preparing and selling adulterated items, reports BSS.
CRPD Assistant Director, Mohammad Foiz Ullah while conducting anti-adulteration drive in cooperation with law enforcing agencies yesterday fined the owners of Imam Foods and Bagdad Foods at city's Biyazid and Chandgaon areas respectively.
During the drive the court realized Tk 1.46 lakh as fines from the authorities of the two establishments. The mobile court found the two companies are producing and selling adulterated food items.
The mobile court also recovered huge decomposed and date expired biscuits, burnt oil from Imam Foods and Bagdad Foods.
Sensing presence of the mobile court the owners of both the commercial establishments fled, and so the court could not fine them, said Foiz Ullah.
