Ctg railway security man placed on 2-day remand

A Chittagong court on Wednesday granted a two-day remand for Habildar Mesbah Uddin, in-charge of the Railway Nirapotta Bahini (RNB) Phartali outpost,  in a case filed over snatching 200-bhori gold from a trader on Monday.
Chittagong senior judicial magistrate Mahmudul Hasan passed the order.
He investigation officer of the case prayed for a seven-day remand before the court to quiz Habildar Mesbah and after hearing, the court granted a two-day remand, said Md Moshiur Rahman, Court inspector of Chittagong district court.
Earlier, Bangladesh railway suspended him temporally for negligence in duty.  Palash Nandy, a gold trader of the city’s Hazari Lane, alleged on Monday that some RNB men snatched 200 gold bars, each weighing one bhori, from him while he was waiting at Phartali railway station for train.
Some men, identifying themselves as officers of the Detective Branch of the police, took him to the nearby RNB outpost.   
He was subjected to frisking as the men alleged that he was carrying contraband yaba tablets. They took away all the 200 gold bars, claimed Nandy.
