The government will construct Dhaka Bypass (Joydevpur-Debgram-Bhulta-Modonpur Road) under public-private-partnership (PPP) as it is expected to play an important role in addressing the acute traffic congestion in the capital, reports UNB.
In this regard, 'Support to Joydevpur-Debgram-Bhulta-Modonpur Road (Dhaka Bypass)' project under PPP was approved by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec), involving Tk 236.50 crore.
The Roads and Highways Department under the Road Transport and Highways Division will implement the project by June 2020 with fund from the government.
The project will be implemented at Joydevpur and Kaliganj upazilas under Gazipur district while Roopganj upazila, Sonargaon upazila and Bandar thana of Narayanganj district.
