Abu Mohammad Motahhar, former headmaster of Dhanbari Primary School, Kazibari in Tangail, died of old age complications at his daughter’s residence in the capital around 3:30pm on Tuesday. He was 93.
He was buried at the family graveyard around 10am yesterday in Dhanbari after namaz-e-janaza. His qulkhawni will be held on Friday at his own residence in Dhanbari.
He was elder brother of AM Mufazzal, editor of The New Nation, and father of Abu Mohammad Masani, senior sub-editor of The Independent. Family members have requested all to pray for the salvation of the departed soul of Abu Mohammad Motahhar.

Alhaj Shamsuddin Ahmed, father of Mohsen Ahmed, president of Emami SAARC cluster, died of old age complications on Tuesday, says a press release.
He was 90. He left two sons and five daughters.
His qulkhawni will be held on Friday at his own residence in Madaripur.
All are requested to pray for the salvation of his departed soul.
