Newspaper office attacked in Sylhet, journo injured

SYLHET:  A journalist was injured as a group of miscreants carried out an attack on the office of a locally published newspaper at Sobhanighat in the city on Tuesday night, reports UNB.
The injured journalist was identified as Masrur Rasel, staff reporter of the ‘Dainik Pravat Bela’.
Witnesses said a group of 10 to 15 unidentified miscreants entered the office of the daily ‘Pravatbela’ around 8pm identifying themselves as students of Darus Sunnah Iakubia Madrasah, adjacent to the office, and started vandalism.
At one stage, Masrur tried to stop them, which angered the hoodlums.
Later, they beat up Masrur mercilessly, leaving him injured and left the office for the madrasah.
Following this, editor of the newspaper Kabir Ahmed Shohel filed a case with Kotwali Police Station, said Sohel Ahmed, officer-in-charge of the police station.
